Last Post: It's been a long time since when!

Hello Blogger readers!!! Ok, so I owe a lot of stories since my last post.

My last post before Pokemon posts, was a post for Valentine's Day 2013, After posting that, I wanted to share what happened on the 7th February which was a little bit surprising. I received a bouquet of flowers from a classmate. No, he was not my friend, nor was he close to me, nor was he courting me. He only gave me flowers because he was dared by one of our classmates from our 3rd year in college. I only found out about the dare a month after. Anyway, so yeah I was fluttered. But I did not care for the flowers. I let it withered. (I was a little kind to it considering that I stopped myself from throwing it away along the way home.) It was a troublesome baggage to bring home too. So I just thanked God that I got to experience receiving flowers for Valentine's Day, instead of getting mad at the situation, and get even madder when I found out why I got flowers in the first place

Then, I had a little fall then too. I fell for a classmate who was already courting another girl. I cannot believe that I cried for a night because of him and I even PM-ed him of my "feelings". I have to admit that it was embarrassing. I did not imagine myself doing something like that. But I did it. No regrets. And of course, I would like to thank my college best friends for being there and for opening my eyes to what it really was: just a puppy love. :D

Summer 2013, hmmmm.... Let me think back to what happened then... Well, I asked my mom and it seems like we just stayed home for the summer. Nothing special, just my birthday and my brother's. Wait! I remember now, I spent the summer taking my certification for bookkeeping on April. I took the exam on May. Then on June, the result was: just a Passing grade. Well, I did not have a good foundation so I expected just a Passing grade. Also, June 2013 started a new college year: my final year in college.

The only highlight of the first semester of my final year in college was during October 2013. Oh yeah, I received my National Institute of Accounting Technicians membership ID on September :D

But before October, I posted my last posts on this blog about Pokemon dated September 2013.I was super hyped with Pokemon X and Y's release worldwide on October 12, 2013, the first main titles that were released worldwide. After that, it was October when the games were released, and my brother and I were envious of people who actually went out there to by the games, or people who actually had the Nintendo handheld systems to download the games.

The next month finally came: October 2013. OCTOBER WAS THE BOMB! No, we did not get a Nintendo handheld system, and no, it was not the bomb because something good happened. It was the bomb because I had a bomb-astic news delivered to me. I asked for its delivery so it was my choice to be delivered. For the first and last time in forever, I had a failing mark. And it was not just a failing mark, it was a MAJOR subject failing mark. It was a 6-unit subject called Advanced Accounting I. Of course I cried myself out, for 2 days as a matter of fact. I had no one to blame but myself. Why I failed? Well, we had to finish our Feasibility Study to finish before the first Monday of October came, because Monday was the report deadline, and Tuesday was the first day of Defense. I pushed my teammates and myself to finish it by Sunday, which meant, we had to do it overnight. But of course, I have this sickness that comes at me whenever I do not sleep on time at night. So Sunday, we have not finished the study since the overnight was a failure. My teammates ended up chatting with other group teams' member. Sunday afternoon, I felt the toll take on me. Monday to Friday after that Sunday was spent either at home, resting, or in the university hospital, having myself checked up and/or medicated. But "resting" was not really the only thing I did during that supposed 5-day rest. My mind was restless, thinking of my teammates during the defense week. (This is because I am the team leader after all; I felt responsible for them and the study that we put together.) So instead of being able to cure myself faster, I had to take until Friday as day-off. Anyway, Saturday, I came back to class. I missed 2 Advanced Accounting I quizzes. I was forced to take them on that Saturday, simultaneously! Naturally, I did bad on both quizzes since I was not able to study when I was sick and focused on the Feasibility Study Defense. Then October, which is finals week, semester break, grades viewing, and enrollment month, came. I asked my classmate that it is ok to tell me the results of the first semester of that subject. I was really sad that I was not able to post my feelings here since I had my friends, and my family to express myself. Surprisingly, my parents are cool about it. I expected divine punishment from them. But no punishment happened. I was really blessed with family and friends.

Then November 2013, we had our school Retreat at Tagaytay! It was super cold there plus the strong winds. Food was ok, not overall good, or bad. It was a 3 days and 2 nights event. I had so much fun! I felt renewed after the retreat. I came back to appreciate Lion King again (which was the movie used so we can relate to what the priest says). And of course, there was a lot of crying and reflection.

December 2013, my friends and I had our Graduation Picture taken together on the 28th day. Before that, there was the Paskuhan of course.

Fast forward to January 2014!! Out of nowhere, my aunt PM-ed me on Facebook. She asked that if she were to visit the Philippines, what would I ask her to buy for me that is not available in the Philippines. I thought and thought and thought. I consulted my brother about requesting a Nintendo handheld system. Since I was a little shy in asking for a Nintendo 3DS, I asked for a Nintendo 2DS. But it was not just a 2DS, it was a BUNDLED 2DS. And the game that it is bundled with is either Pokemon X or Pokemon Y. My brother and I chose Pokemon Y.

Next is February 2014. I did not receive any flowers this time. But what I had received this month was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than a bouquet of flowers from someone who was just dared to do so. My aunt from the states had arrived, and she brought with her our first Nintendo handheld since our Gameboy Advance SP when we first went to Canada, The handheld system was the Nintendo 2DS bundled with Pokemon Y, which I requested from her. My brother and I were HYPED! We played the game and was able to complete the Kalos Pokedex! Completing the National dex is still a challenge till this day. Also, since our aunt is here, we had dinner outs for a month with her. It was Starbucks every night. IT WAS THE LIFE! :D

March 2014 came. Finals, Baccalaureate Mass, and Graduation March were the main events. Finals, I did great! Bacc Mass was emotional. The theme was: LET IT GO! It was the mass that I ever attended in the University. It touched me so much that I promised to myself to do more than my best in summer class when I get a second chance to take on Advanced Accounting I and its post requisite Advanced Accounting II.

April 2014 was super memorable. First, I was assigned by our college head to organize my batch's summer class. Of course, I did great with the job. I was awesome! I really do believe I have a potential to be a great leader. Second, I met awesome people and they became new friends! I was one of the top students in my Advanced Accounting II, while Advanced Accounting I was not that great. I feared that I will the subject again. Lastly, it was my first and last time to celebrate my birthday in school! I treated my best friends some Shakey's food, and I received a gift of Hershey's Kisses. I really love them :D

May 2014, summer finals, and my brother's birthday. It was a bloody summer finals! When finals results came out, I PASSED BOTH COURSES!! And I was officially a graduate from the University of Santo Tomas. Later that month, it was time for me to look for a job since I have decided not to continue the course to take the CPA Board Exam. I did not have any interest in taking the course anymore. It was too much for me and I know my limitations. (Besides,  I did not want to burden my parents anymore. I already have completed my 4-year course, and it was time to work.) Also, my dad went to the USA! It was his first time to go abroad. It was for a month. And when he got back on July, we had a new game to play: Mario Kart 7! :D

June 2014 was all about phone calls and interviews form companies that I applied to last March of the year (which I failed to mention above).

July came and not a single company called for a Job Offer. I came to the lowest point when I went to all the buildings in Makati in one street and had a walk-in application, Then on the later parts of the first week of July, I received a Job Offer from this local bank! It was a bank for the "rich". Anyway, my first day was on July 16, but I was not able to come to work because it was raining hard and the areas going to work were flooded. So my literal first day was July 17. And no, I did not like my first job.

First of all, I felt like the 4 years of hard work studying my course was wasted. The job was an admin work. I was not able to apply my course to it. I felt like I was underemployed; also, yes, I was underpaid. My pay was below minimum wage. Considering my course and my school in college, I knew that I deserved better than being bossed around to type, photocopy, and communicate to other department what my boss tells me to do. I felt like a personal assistant in a bank, So we now fast forward to November.

(Oh yeah, with my first salary ever, I was able to treat my family for dinner with Andok's chicken and barbecue. I was also able to buy a new game for me and my brother: Pokemon Omega Ruby! The game came out November 21, 2014.)

November 2014 was the month when I left the bank. I had enough of it, Although it was hard for me to get detached from my friends at work, I had to resign for my own growth. On the same month, I took on the study sessions for the certification of registered cost accountant.

I took the exam on December, a week after UST's Paskuhan when the whole group came together for the event. Christmas was spent in my dad's province in the north.

New Year was spent here in Manila. I rested for a month before deciding to apply for work. I was waiting for the exam results of the said certification. But my parents wanted for me to apply for jobs already so I do not get to compete with the new grads this year. Still, I enjoyed my stay at home, and did not bother applying for a job. Until...

February 17, 2015 came when I received a very good news from NIAT. The RCA results came in and I passed with a High Distinction grade :D Since then, I updated my resume and started applying for a job from jobstreet.

March 2015, I went to the university to apply for jobs at the job fair. So March, April, and May were all about interviews and job hunting.

April 2015, my family had its first ever car. Because of that, my brother, my father, and I went to driving school. We had to apply first for a student permit of course. It was easy since our car was automatic and so we enrolled for automatic as well.

May 2015 was when we had our driving exam! It was needed to get a non-professional driving license. However, we only got our temporary driver's license because there was no card available at the LTO. We had to wait until July to get the card itself.

Then in June, I finally had my first day at my 2nd work. It is yet again with a bank, but this time, it is with a multinational bank. So I leveled up! I am part of the bank's shared service, with regular hours at work, and no Saturday work (with exceptions on the first Saturdays of the month). I was even able to join in the annual team building of my department at Shercon Resort in Batangas. It was super awesome! I wanted to revisit the place with my family. :D

Now, it is July. my 2nd month with the bank! On my first salary, I treated my teammates to lunch with a delivery from A Magpantay that is just in Makati as well.

I hope that I get to stay with the bank for a long time. I am hoping to use my experience with the bank when I get to enroll for the CMA (Certified Management Accountant) which is my ultimate goal. Then finally using this title to work abroad which is my ultimate dream. When I get to work abroad, little by little, I will be making my way to working with Nintendo which is my dream company to work with since I love their games :D

But for now, I am saving up for a lot of things like future Pokemon titles, my own car, and a new phone :D

So help me God. :D

Here's the link to my new blog called Dunkin' Hershey's Kool Aid where I will be posting from now on :D
